Ian McMillan got his start in high school workshops and never lost the fascination with how cameras and light work together. After studying filmmaking in Montreal, he moved to Toronto and committed fully to cinematography, choosing to build a career rooted in strong lighting, composition, and a practical understanding of the craft.
Visual Style:
Ian lights spaces, not just faces. Coming from music videos, he favors environments that can be photographed from multiple angles with energy and freedom. Even in brighter commercial settings, he works to create depth and dimensionality through smart lighting and lensing choices.
