Keenan Lynch
Cinematographer | Narrative & Documentary
Keenan Lynch’s passion for cinema began at home: every Tuesday he and his dad would rent the latest releases – comparing VHS, LaserDisc, and DVD quality – and Keenan got free rein on his dad’s MiniDV and VHS cameras.
“My love of movies kind of started there… he always let me have free range to play around with them.”
Though he entered film school aiming to direct, halfway through he realized he was “more focused on the visuals,” transitioned into shooting, and built his career from camera assisting and gaffing into full‑time cinematography.
Visual Style:
Keenan describes his signature look as “naturally saturated” – rich colours and controlled contrast that still feel organic. His camera sits low and handheld to bring viewers into intimate proximity:
“I like to operate handheld low… it’s a perspective I like to shoot. You can get really close to people and get beautiful close‑ups that don’t distort the face.”
He pushes textures and colour depth while preserving a natural vibe.
